New Blog Address!

Don't get too excited ;-) It's got the same look, just a new banner across the top! I couldn't get this blog to do anything with the banner - some kind of a formatting problem. So I'm ditchin' it!

For Farrell

Here's just a couple for you Farrell; they're some of my faves from your shoot. I'm almost done proofing so I'm only including two here. You'll hear from me on Sunday!

And Farrell commented on my last post about music, so I have to give a shout out to a couple more musical treats!
Check out (and buy) Regina Spektor (so fresh and delicious) and one of my absolute faves that Farrell referenced: Joshua Radin (perfection in my ear.)
On to Mr. Keegan!

Happy Thursday!

I hope everyone had a festive 4th yesterday :-) despite the rain.
Wanted to throw it out there that I am all booked for July! Yay! Bring on August!

And a random tidbit for those of you who have iPods...my absolute favorite song of late that gives me goosebumps everytime and I never get sick of listening to, is Hey There Delilah by The Plain White Ts. For 99 cents on iTunes I highly recommend you get it!

And I have to recommend a few more now that I wrote that...

All Girl

We're together too much, she and I.

Poll :-)

This is why pictures are worth it

I was so moved and inspired by a wedding slideshow this morning that I felt I must share. I don't know these people, but watching these pictures float across my screen I got all teary. Imagine these being your pictures. I really do want to create this feeling for people, be it in a wedding or in your daily lives with your families.
What an inspiration! Not to mention the music is by David Gray, whom I adore, who did my wedding song as well. Watch this and have your volume on.
Jessica Claire rocks. Photography rocks.

Looking for a Tutu Model!

Update: We got 'em!! Thanks for your interest!!

Hi Blog Readers! (are you out there?)
I am looking for a little girl (preferably aged 2 to 5) to come to a "fashion shoot" this Saturday morning from 8:30-12 at Mercer Arboretum in Spring.
She'll be putting on 3 different tutus and other accessories (shoes, tops, etc.)
I'm photographing an aspiring tutu maker's pictures for her website and clothing tags!
Sonya makes the coolest tutus and is hilariously funny. I think you might even snag a tutu from the deal!
There will be 4 other little girls there, too, my little Lily, and my mom to be the tutu wrangler.

Hurry! Please email me with interest!!! (If you don't have a little girl, do you know someone who does?) saramoonphotography@gmail.com

This 'n' That

You need one of these. You really NEED one of these (or one similar!) I got mine today and instead of being underwhelmed...for once I was overwhelmed. The woman who makes them is a gem. Go here to order yours: http://lisaleonard.blogspot.com/2007/05/sterling-stamped-jewelry.html Thanks for the heads up, Stacy Mc!!

Detail of the chain:

The "dog tags". One says Mikey, the other Lily Bean :-) And there's a freshwater pearl in the middle...representing moi of course!

Remember the movie "Nell" with Jodie Foster? Well, when Lily has a really bad hair day we call her Nell. Witness:

"Chicka, chicka, chickabee. / T'ee an me an t'ee an me. / Ressa, ressa, ressa me, / Chicka, chicka, chickabee."

Last, WHO TAUGHT HER HOW TO SAY CHEESE??? Because it wasn't me. Never teach your kid to say cheese! These are from the last 2 days...she thinks she's just too funny.

Have a great weekend! I'm working on your stuff if you're wondering...yes, YOU!

Is anyone out there thinking...

that the weather today is our version of a winter blizzard? I feel trapped in the house.

Good gracious it's stifling - can you spell M-I-S-E-R-A-B-L-E?????

Had to complain to someone besides Lily. That's the great thing about toddlers - they can't really complain yet! But I can!!!!

I wish I was them...(watch this for a big ol' awwwwwwwwwwww)

Time to Shine!

Take a look at these kiddos from Richmond (a bit past Sugarland). Good genes floating around out there, that's for sure! Thanks for having me out there, Stacy, Jennifer F., Jennifer D., Katie, Melanie, and Sarah! I'm in awe of your friendships that have lasted for sooooo very many years. Friends rule! (ETA: For some reason the pictures don't look quite as "spicy" as I'd like them to look here on Blogger, but they look wunderbar on my screen. I didn't switch to sRGB if you're a photog looking at these...)
